Nissan Leaf

WOULDN’T IT BE COOL IF YOU NEVER HAD TO STOP FOR GAS AGAIN?

nissan leaf rear

The Nissan LEAF® is 100% electric. That means no gas. None. So forget about the cost of a gallon, and say hello to freedom from the pump. Because the only time you’ll be going to the gas station is whenever you need to put air in your tires.

NOT 50%. NOT 99%. 100% ELECTRIC.

No gas, ever.
The 100% electric Nissan LEAF motor is powered exclusively by an advanced lithium-ion battery that you can charge at home, or on-the-go. Meanwhile, hybrids have to carry around their electric drivetrains plus their gas engines.

ZERO. NOTHING. NOT A PUFF.

Zero emissions
Most cars – even hybrids – release tons of CO2 tailpipe emissions every year. The Nissan LEAF doesn’t use a single drop of gas. And no gas means no tailpipe, no fumes, and zero emissions.

FEWER PARTS. LESS MAINTENANCE.

Say goodbye to pricey oil changes and tune-ups. With fewer moving parts than any car you’ve ever owned, the Nissan LEAF is ultra low maintenance.

WASTE NOT. WANT NOT.

Efficiency in every detail
It’s designed for efficiency, and that doesn't just mean the electric motor. With an aerodynamic body, regenerative brakes, and available LED low-beam headlights that use half the energy of traditional ones, the Nissan LEAF gets more miles and more fun out of every kilowatt.

Aerodynamics
A flat underbody meshes with a front spoiler and rear diffuser, letting it slip through the air with minimal resistance. Up front, headlights deflect air away from the side mirrors, further reducing drag while minimizing wind noise and maximizing range.

Regenerative Braking
The Regenerative Braking System captures energy while you coast or brake, recycling it back into usable power. A meter on the dashboard clearly displays whether you are consuming power, or gaining energy.

Battery
With twice the power and half the weight of the nickel-metal hydride batteries used in traditional hybrids, the 30 kWh lithium-ion battery helps make your ride ultra-efficient.

Solar Spoiler
The available photovoltaic solar-panel rear spoiler converts sunlight to energy, charging its 12V accessory battery and helping power accessories like the stereo, climate control, and headlights.

CHARGE AT HOME...

Home charging dock
The home charging dock lets you refuel your Nissan LEAF in the comfort and convenience of your garage. That’s right – you refuel at home.

...AND ON THE GO
Charging stations by the thousands are springing up all over America. They’re usually located in electric-vehicle-only parking stalls. And with select states offering EVs the unlimited use of carpool lanes, getting to one is a cinch. [*]

*HOV/carpool access varies by state. Please consult state laws for eligibility.

NISSAN LEAF PERFORMANCE

REDUCE NOISE POLLUTION

You can make the world a cleaner, quieter place. That's because electric motors don’t make noise like internal combustion engines. The LEAF’s virtually silent motor can take you farther than ever before on a single charge – up to 107 miles. [*]

*Nissan LEAF® EPA range is 107 miles. Based on targeted EPA estimates. Actual range may vary with driving conditions — use for comparison only.

GET UP AND GO!

Performance you wouldn’t get from a V8
You've never driven anything like the Nissan LEAF, and you've probably never felt anything like its instant torque. The power is there when you touch the pedal. There is no lag, no revving-up or shifting gears – it just goes.

THE NEW VROOM

Incredibly quiet driving
Say goodbye to the vibration and engine noise of every other car you've ever driven. The advanced 80 kW AC synchronous electric motor provides the quietest, smoothest ride you've ever experienced.

GET PRACTICAL WITHOUT GIVING UP FUN

From the moment you hear its signature power-up chime, you’re in for a blast behind the wheel of the Nissan LEAF. An available heated, leather-wrapped steering wheel will help keep your hands warm on chilly mornings. Ultra-modern gauges and an easy-to-read Display Drive Computer puts information like range, battery charge level, and power usage info front and center. Fun that’s efficient. Practical that’s cool. The best of all worlds, all in one car.

NISSAN LEAF INTERIOR

INNOVATION FOR FIVE

The Nissan LEAF is all about efficiency, but that doesn't mean this 4-door, 5-passenger hatchback skimps on interior finish or size. It comes with available folding rear seats made from Bio Suede PET, [*] tons of storage, a USB port, [*] climate control, and more. It’s everything you’d expect in a premium car, even if it weren’t electric.

*Cloth contains Polyethylene terephthalate (PET), a recycled material.
*Driving is serious business and requires your full attention. If you have to use the connected device while driving, exercise extreme caution at all times so full attention may be given to vehicle operation. External device not included.

SPACIOUS INTERIOR

The Nissan LEAF is a roomy 5-seater, with four doors and essentials like generous cup holders and smart storage throughout.

HEATED LEATHER-WRAPPED STEERING WHEEL

The Nissan LEAF comes with an available heated leather-wrapped steering wheel, so you can keep warm in a more energy-efficient way than just cranking up the heat.

HEATED SEATS

Forget arguments over who’s got shotgun! The available stylish, modern, and comfortable black leather-appointed seats are heated so everyone rides in comfort.

SHIFT AHEAD

Drive selector
Park. Reverse. Drive. All the normal settings are there. But why settle for normal? Shift the advanced drive selector into B-Mode to increase the regenerative braking force and brake response.

ROOM TO SPARE

Smart storage
You free up an awful lot of room when you take out things like transmissions, oil filters, and radiators. With the 60/40 split rear seats up, you can fit in three child seats, and still have space for your golf bag in back. Fold them flat, and you’ll have a generous 30 cubic feet of versatility – including a handy cargo well that lets you keep valuables out of sight. [*]

*Cargo and load capacity limited by weight and distribution. Always secure all cargo.

NISSAN LEAF TECHNOLOGY

AS ADVANCED INSIDE AS IT IS OUTSIDE

Nissan Navigation System The available Nissan Navigation System makes driving your Nissan LEAF an ultra-efficient and confident experience. [*]

*Never program while driving. GPS mapping may not be detailed in all areas or reflect current road status.

Driving Range
The Driving Range screen pinpoints your current location using GPS, and creates a simple map that illustrates the range of your Nissan LEAF in real time. As you travel, the Driving Range adjusts to reflect the changing circumstances of your battery charge, current location and driving conditions. [*]

*Nissan LEAF® EPA range is 107 miles. Based on targeted EPA estimates. Actual range may vary with driving conditions — use for comparison only.

Nearby Charging Stations
The system offers you a map and list of nearby stations, based on your current location. Select one, and the Navigation System will let you know if that station is within your range, and provide directions. [*]

*Availability/accessibility of charging stations not guaranteed.

Usage and Energy Economy
The display screen shows your current battery charge, and tells you how much power your interior climate control and other systems are using. The electric motor meter indicates power use during acceleration or regeneration, as well as during coasting or braking, as energy is converted back into the battery pack. Based on all this information, the Energy Economy page offers efficiency-boosting tips.

Hands-Free Text Messaging Assistant
Want to reply to a text message? No need to reach for your phone. The hands-free text messaging assistant [*] keeps you connected through voice recognition technology. Or use the Bluetooth® Hands-free Phone System [*] to make a call without diverting your attention.

AROUND VIEW® MONITOR
Parking is a snap with the available Around View® Monitor. [*] Using four cameras, the system creates a virtual bird’s-eye-view of the Nissan LEAF, and transmits the image to the LCD monitor, for easier parking.

*Parking aid/convenience feature. Cannot completely eliminate blind spots. May not detect every object and does not warn of moving objects. Always check surroundings and turn to look behind you before moving vehicle.
